Actor. Born Stephen Nelson Feuerstein, he was best known for his role of Kent "Flounder" Dorfman in the 1978 film classic "National Lampoon's Animal House". He was a graduate of the theater program at Virginia Commonwealth University. He got his first acting role in 1975 in the television series "Movin' On". He would go on to appear in many television series with his best known roles in "St. Elsewhere" (as Dr. Elliot Axelrod) and "Babylon 5" (as Vir Cotto). His other television credits included "Delta House", "Newhart", "ChiPs", "Have Faith", "Murder, She Wrote", "Melrose Place", "Diagnosis Murder", "and "Misery Loves Company". He made his film debut in 1977 in the film "American Raspberry". Besides "National Lampoon's Animal House", he also appeared in such films as " Midnight Madness" (1980), "Class Reunion" (1982), "The Dream Team" (1989), "Magic Kid" (1993), "Magic Kid II" (1994), and "Sorority Boys" (2002). He also appeared in several made-for-television films including "The Day After". He did voice work for several animated films and series throughout his career. In the 2000s, he directed three movies for the Sci Fi Channel. He also directed many low budget and independent films as well. He battled diabetes during his life and passed away from complications of the disease.
