Actor, Comedian. Born Jon Thomas Terrell, he was an Emmy Award-winning actor best known for his roles on television. The two-time award winner for his guest appearances as 'Jerry Gold' on "Murphy Brown", is perhaps even better remembered for his role as barmaid 'Carla's' washed-up hockey player husband 'Eddie Lebec' on "Cheers". He had starring roles in two sitcoms – ABC's 'Married People' and CBS' 'Love and War'. Other TV credits include 'Mork & Mindy', 'Family Ties', 'Open House', 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit', 'Hercules', 'Cold Case', 'Boston Legal', 'Ink', 'Katie Joplin' and 'Ray Donovan'. His film appearances included roles in 'C.H.U.D.' (1984), 'Legal Eagles' (1986), 'Straight Talk' (1992), 'Mr. Holland's Opus' (1985), 'Monkey Business' (1998), 'The Santa Clause 2' (2002) and 'The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause' (2006). He was also a comedian, DJ and talk show host, most recently as host of 'The Jay Thomas Show' on satellite radio. Thomas died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
