John Michael Bruch of Davidson, SK passed away suddenly on May 21, 2001. He was born on June 28, 1926 at Killaly, SK. His family moved to the St Warburg area in 1927, farming at Flat Valley, between Loon Lake and Goodsoil. At age 12 John was stricken with polio, which temporarily paralyzed him from the neck down. He was not expected to live more than 6 months, but miraculously, he recovered and went on to a long and varied life. Working with the phone company and the railroad were a big part of his young adult life. He also had a love of training horses. In 1947, he began working on his brother-in-law Frank Bender's farm near Loreburn, SK. They lived on a farm nearby, where they raised their children and armed until moving to Davidson in 1987. John kept busy with yard work and chores for a variety of people, and often Rose Marie would help him out. His garden, plants and other special projects kept him busy through the years. His grandchildren were a great source of pride and joy and every moment he spent with them was precious.

John is survived by his loving wife Rose Marie and his family; he is also survived by three brothers: Bill (Martha) Bruch of Calgary, AB; Ernie (Doreen) Bruch, of Medicine Hat, AB; and Milton (Betty) Bruch, of Woodstock, ON. John also has numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
