Henry William Trauernicht died at his home near New Douglas on Nov. 22, 1972.

He was born Aug. 27, 1913, in New Douglas, son of the late Habbo and Emma Hemann Trauernicht. He was married to Helen Bloemker on Jan. 31, 1942, in Staunton.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, John Trauernicht, of Decatur, daughters Mrs. William (Elva) Klekamp of Decatur, Ellouise Trauernicht of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Richard (Doris) Ferre of Decatur and Marcella Trauernicht of Route 1 New Douglas; two grandchildren; brothers, Albert J. Trauernicht of the Litchfield Nursing Home and Edwin Trauernicht, Route 1, New Douglas, and sisters Mrs. Clara Simmering of Garber, Okla., Mrs. Minnie Schoen of New Douglas and Mrs. Walter (Tillie) DeVries of Mount Olive.

Three brothers, John, Herman and George Trauernicht, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schoen and Emma Trauernicht, are deceased.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Staunton and the Madison County Farm Bureau.

Visitation was held at Lesicko Funeral Home in New Douglas and the funeral service was at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Staunton with the Rev. H. F. Rinderknect officiating. Burial was in New Douglas Cemetery.
