James A. Dickie, 54, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Worcester, died Saturday in his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Worcester. Mr. and Mrs. Dickie observed their 35th wedding anniversary last April 9.
Mr. Dickie was an Army veteran, attaining the rank of sergeant first class. He served twice in the Vietnam War. During his military career, he received two Purple Heart medals and the Bronze Star, along with other military citations. He retired from the Army and moved to Boise in 1978 where he was a release of information clerk at the Veterans Administration Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the Fort Myer Chapel, Arlington, Va. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery . The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Boise.
