Mrs. William Bitner Succumbs Wednesday After Long Illness
Mrs. Nellie M. Bitner. age 87, of Route 1, Kings Mountain, died last Wednesday at her home following an illness of several years. She was born in Washington County, Tenn. Aug. 17, 1883 and was married to William Rufus Bitner Dec. 24, 1914. She had lived here since 1919. She was a member of the Pond Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs Madge Stampe, Beech Grove, Ind; Mrs. Gladys Ryan, Indiananpolis: Mrs Macie Blaylock, Rossville, Ga.; 0rville Bitner, Cincinnati; 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Johnson, Greenville, Tenn. and Mrs. Bessie Boyd, Chucky, Tenn.
Services were conducted Friday at the Pond Baptist Church by the Rev. Gurney York and the Rev. Bill Jackson.
Burial was in the Double Springs Cemetery.
