Adam Holzworth, Sr. 65 of 330 East Fourth Street, died Sunday, November 24, 1940 at General Hospital following a brief illness. Born November 14, 1875 in Hungary, Mr. Holzworth had been a resident of Mansfield for 28 years. Mr. Holzworth was a horse whisperer in Hungary and the United States before he became the owner of the Holzworth Grocery Store on Fourth Ave and Grace St.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret, three sons, Adam Jr., Peter and Michael of Mansfield, three daughters, Mrs. John Theodore, Mrs. Joseph Franzen and Miss Johana Holzworth of Mansfield; two brothers, George of Mansfield and William of Yugoslavia; a sister Mrs. Edward Kovich of Mansfield and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of St John's Evangelical Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. Wednesday at St John's Evangelical Church with Rev. Paul E. Saleste officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. The body will remain at the home until time of services.
