Rita was married to Edgar Glenn Helms of Thomas, Tucker County,West Virginia.They married 23 June 1942 in Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia, seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls. She is the daughter of Charles Leaf Linton of Paint Bank, Craig County, Virginia and Maude Elton Pangle of Arcola, Loudoun County, Virginia.The sister to Charles Edwin Linton, Emery Lee Linton, James Dudley Linton, Stanley Ray Linton, Mary June Linton and Myrtle Elton Linton, all of Virginia .

Obituary : Northern Virginia Daily, Friday, May 24,2002, section A, p. 9. Rita Alice Linton Helms, 76, of 1048 Patmos Road, Woodstock, died at her home .
The funeral will conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock by Rev. George Bowers . A grave side service will be held Sunday at noon at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia . Mrs. Helms was born January 17, 1926, in Elkwood, daughter of Charles Leaf and Maude Pangle Linton . She was a homemaker and had attended Valley Pike Church of the Brethren . She was the wife of the late Edgar Glenn Helms . Surviving are four sons, Bobby Helms of Linden, Billy Helms of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Charles Helms of Manassas, Jeff Helms of Sterling ; three daughters, Patsy Dasher of Woodstock, Paula Harris and Karen Schottler both of Berryville ; a sister, Myrtle Truex of Virginia Beach ; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, and a number of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren . The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home .
