Nina Reed was born in Adams and was the daughter of Fay and Neva Wilbur Reed. She graduated from Adams High School in 1946 and attended the Sherwood school of Music in Chicago Illinois. She was a skilled musician and was the church organist at the United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She also started playing the clarinet in High School and continued with various bands in the Jefferson County area. She taught music to students out of her home for many years.

On December 31, 1950, she married Merrill Calvin Scott of Henderson. Merrill and his twin brother, Murray, ran the Scott Service Station and Garage in Henderson and Nina assisted them with whatever needed to be done. Whether it was pumping gas, cleaning windshields, doing bookkeeping or running errands, she was always an active part of the business.

Nina loved flower gardening, skiing, walking and playing tennis.

She was survived by her husband, a daughter-in-law, a son, grandson, and great grandson, and three sisters. She was predeceased by a son Mark, a brother Robert Reed, and a sister, Violet Wagner.
