20 March 1969 HELENA S. ROD Helena S. Rod, 83, of Route 1, Stanwood, died March 16 in a Mount Vernon hospital following an extended illness. Born Sept. 11, 1885 in Norway, she resided all her life in the Norman-Stanwood area. She was married Feb. 26, 1910 to Hartvig Rod, who preceded her in death March 8 of this year. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Silvana. Survivors include one son, Howard; one sister, Mrs. Ella Hauge of Silver Lake; three brothers, Walter Stubb of Silver Lake and Louie and Victor Stubb of Stanwood; one grandson, William Rod and one granddaughter, Nancy Rod. Services will be held Thursday,March 20
at1:30p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (on the hill) with Pastor Raymond Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. The casket will be open for friends until noon
Thursday at Tiffany’s Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Stanwood. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
