LaVerne Rice Kimble, 82, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Church of Christ in Henrietta with Todd Davis, minister, officiating. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Kimble was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Lockney, the youngest of 11 children to Virgil and Dovie Gordon Lambert. She married Herman Rice and later married Raymond A. Kimble. She also owned Steak House Restaurant in Henrietta for 20 years.

LaVerne loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an active member of Central Church of Christ and was a previous member of Randolph Church of Christ in Universal City and Church of Christ in Henrietta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Herman Marshal Rice and Raymond A. Kimble; a beloved son, Bobby Herman Rice; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeane Goodwin and husband John of Amarillo, Darlene Harris and family of Denton, N.C., and Betty Anderson and family of Justin; a grandson, Bobby M. Dye of Twin Falls, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Malinda Kimble and husband Calvin of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Church of Christ, 101 S. Burnett St., Henrietta, TX 76365.
