Funeral Held
Today For
Letter Carrier
The funeral of Joseph G.
Berkery, a letter carrier for the
Lanstngburg Post Office for
more than 30 years, wa« held
today from the residence, 196
Hill street, and later from St.
Mary's Church where a Solemn
Requiem High Mass was celebrated
by Rev. Daniel H. Markham,
the pastor. Rev. Edward
J. Ryan was deacon and Rev.
Joseph S. Robitaille, subdeacon.
Miss Agnes C. Sheeran was
organist and Miss Margaret M.
Markham, soloist. She sang
"Sub Venite" at the processional,
"Doming Jesu Christe"
at the offertory and "In Paradisum"
at the recessional.
The bearers were Joseph T.
O'Brien, David L. O'Brien,
Brian T. Cavanaugh, Harold H.
Gaunay, Fred G. Watson and
William E. Crandall. Interment
was in St. Mary's Cemetery
with Father Markham officiating
at the committal services.
Members of the clergy who
visited the residence were Father
Markham who recited the
Rosary and Rev. Edward J.
Ryan. Delegations visited the
residence from Father Van
Rensselaer Assembly. 4th Degree
K. of C; Troy Council,
K. of C; employes of the Troy
Post Office, headed by Postmaster
Arthur T. Judge; members
of the Troy Police Dept;
employes of Albany office. New
York Telephone Co., and the
