Lillian Viola Joranlien, age 94, passed away at Cedar Crest, Janesville. She was born in Guthrie Center, IA, the daughter of Sam and Katherine (Nielsen) Simonsen. Lillian graduated from Clinton High School in 1935 at the age of 16. She had worked at the Clinton Bakery and was also a housekeeper for the Karstaedts family in Beloit. She married George Joranlien on Oct. 12, 1940, in Luther Valley, and shared sixty-six years of marriage together. They farmed in Newark Township and retired in 1982. Lillian and George moved to Beloit and enjoyed taking many trips throughout the United States and Canada. Lillian was a long time member of Luther Valley Church. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; son, Ronald; sisters, Leona and Lilla; brother, Ivan: and great-grandchild, Daniel.
