In 1935 while they were in California on a visit they had twins, Patricia Lee who was healthy and Robert who was still born. They then went back to Colorado, buried their baby boy and lived for 4 more years before moving to southern California.
Clint worked in a Safeway store for awhile, then became a welder and during the WWII he worked in the ship yards building war ships. After the war he worked all over California as a welder.
In 1940 they had a son Monte Eugene Cheek, born in Glendale, California.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge.
Clinton died May 31, 1961 in Long Beach, Calif. after suffering a Heart Attack at the age of 49. He was preceded in death by his father 1951 and baby son, Robert Clinton Cheek 1935.
He was survived by wife, Edith M Strode Cheek, and 2 children; Patricia Lee Cheek Crow b.1935 (Frank) and Monte Eugene Creek b.1940 (Gaylyn Cisco).
