Mrs. Martha M. Berry
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha M. Berry, 87, who died Friday, November 3, at her home, 802 Duck street, were held in the First Methodist Episcopal church at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. Mills M. Anderson, and the Rev. J.A. Callan, former Methodist pastor here, officiating. Interment was in Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of the Vincent Funeral Home.
Martha M. Brown was born in Whitney county, Kentucky, on January 19, 1846. On February 17, 1870, she was united in marriage to William Edward Berry, and with him move to Missouri, and later to Kansas.
In 1889 they moved with their children to Oklahoma, settling near Stillwater, later moving to Stillwater in 1891, where Mr. Berry died in 1929.
Five children were born to this union, four of whom survive. They are Mrs. E.C. Mullendore, Cleveland; Mrs. Ola Goodson, Blackwell; Thomas N. Berry and James E. Berry, Stillwater; a daughter, Bessie Berry, died December 16, 1898. There are 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and the ladies' auxiliary of the American Legion.
