The family relocated to Oneonta, New York sometime between 1926 and 1928 where his father was a roofing contractor. William married to Shirley Agnes Reed on 22 June 1946 at Oneonta. William and Shirley were the parents of three children.

William Lynn More, 90, of Reisterstown, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Maryland Masonic Home in Cockeysville.
Born Feb. 5, 1923, in Oneonta, N.Y., he was the third child of the late Glenn and Rachel More. He was the husband of Shirley More, who died in December 2012.
He served in Headquarters Company, 4th Marine Division, surviving the campaigns of the Pacific Theatre. He returned to graduate from Cornell University, marry and raise a family. He continued to serve his country until 1972. He was an active volunteer in Liberty Road Baseball, the 4th Marine Division, the Masons, and the Boumi Shrine Temple.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Whitney More; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and John Bowie; grandchildren Sam More and wife Kate, Peter More, John Bowie and Charlie Bowie; a brother, Ralph More; and a sister, Roberta Asplund.
He was predeceased by a son, William Walter More.
Interment will be in Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church Cemetery
