Bernice Oseola Shelley
July 23, 1925 - March 12, 2013

Bernice Shelley July 23, 1925 to March 12, 2013.

Preceded by her mother Gladys, father Fred, Brother Jack and his wife Delores.

Survived by her Husband of 60yrs, Frank Shelley. Son Scott Shelley, 4 Grandchildren; Angela Malmstead, Jennifer Scharpp, Franklin and Felicia. And 5 Great Grandchildren.

Bugs/Red was the most wonderful wife I could've asked for. We met on a blind date that I almost missed and we married 3 months after that date. She always had my needs met before I knew I needed them. She baked all the time, and had dinner ready for me as soon as I got home from work. She was head of our house. She was the heart of our house. She truly was the best thing that ever happened to me and we feel very lost without her.

Mom was exceptional. She really showed her love in serving you. Making your favorite things to eat, special cookies, treats. I was her only son and I believe she treated me as a treasure. She loved to grow gardens, growing up I helped her work on our yard. I learned the pride of accomplishment. Landscaping was natural to her. She had art hobbies that I got involved, tin chairs, cut from entire cans. Christmas decorations all made by hand. She was always doing something cool.

Grandma Bugs was the most incredible women I knew. She was strong, independent and always showed her love in all she did. She was the person I most wanted to be like. An exceptional house wife, home maker, cook, landscaper. She worked very hard at all she did. She was a Grandma to all kids she was around and loved them all!! She had an amazing light in her, and when I was having a hard day I could call her and she would brighten my day, put some light into my times of stress. Even in the hospital when my kids became allot for me to handle so we needed to end a visit, she said, Oh mom, they are just kids, they get bored. She truly loved them in all they did! Getting into things, being loud. As she lay sick, she would always respond to my littlest one. He would whistle for her, she would open her eyes and say there he is, there's my baby. It was very hard to have to let her go, but a gift he could bring her some happiness in the last few days of her life. I wish they could've known her like I did, camping trips, Sunday morning pancakes, Easter dresses, stocking she made just for you. If you wanted the same thing for every meal, she was very happy to let you try that out, maybe why I don't want waffles alot anymore. Working in the garden, learning to cook. Learning to sew, pin curls. Movie nights, sleeping on the couch in front of the fireplace when the power went out. She was an amazing example of love!
