Bossier City, Louisiana - Services for Eugene Benton Holt,88, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend James E. Flowers of St. George's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday February 4, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.

Eugene was born December 8, 1925 in Ringgold, LA. He passed away on February 1, 2014. He proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during World War II and the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He was a courageous man, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the state-winning 1942 Bossier High football team. His passion for finding a good bargain at a garage sale was only equaled by his love of socializing with his morning walk group at Pierre Bossier Mall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Eugene is survived by his son, Jerry Holt, daughters, Karen Holt and Kristie Holt; and grandchildren, Heather Brown, Julie Martin, Jeffery Holt, and Sophie Dow.

The family would like to thank lifelong friends Mr. James Baker and Al Hendricks and his cousin Kenny Holt. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the NWLA Veterans Home.
