SJMN - 5/12/2005:

Linda Rao July 16, 1957 - May 9, 2005.

After a long illness, Linda Joy Rao of Atascadero, CA, went Home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2005, with her family at her bedside and showered with the love of many friends whose lives she touched.

Linda grew up in San Jose, CA, graduated from Del Mar High School and attended San Jose State University as a music major. Linda worked as a paralegal for the law firm of Fitzpatrick & Barbieri in San Luis Obispo for many years.

Memorial services held on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Atascadero Bible Church. Graveside service held Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara, CA.

Linda was the daughter of Ed and Ann Simpson of Brentwood, CA, and the late Victor Rao, sister of Nancy Rao of Milpitas, CA, Robert (Linda M.) Rao of Livermore, Ronald (Angela) Rao of Hudson, WI, and Jill (Steve) Hambaugh of Pittsburg, CA, aunt of Tori and Cole Rao, Allison and Audrey Rao, and Julianna Hambaugh; niece of Polly Paradiso, friend of Lana Basinger, Brooke and Byron Hatcher, JoAnne Carollo, and Heather Livingston among many others. Linda also leaves behind her dear friend, Dan Scarry, and her beloved dogs, Abbie and Zoey.

Despite a nearly twenty year struggle with cancer, Linda had a special way of spreading joy to all that knew her and her life exemplified her favorite motto: "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much". Linda lived life to the fullest and poured her heart into a wide array of interests and activities, including her lifelong love of horses, agility dog training and over 100 therapy dog visits through SLODOG, gardening, needlework, and much more. Linda was especially devoted to her family and documented every occasion with her talented camerawork.

Linda's positive attitude, joy of life and contagious sense of humor touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
