She was born in Richford, Vermont, March 8, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Minnie May (LaFlam) Westover.
Doris was married to Martin W. Bowen Sr., who died March 18, 1991.
She enjoyed children, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and birds.
She was a member of the Rochester Federated Church and the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Millie Johnson and her husband Robert of Hartford, and Virginia Bettis and her husband Gordon of Rutland; two sons, Martin W. Bowen Jr. and his wife Norma of West Rutland, and Timothy Bowen and his wife Kelly of Rochester; her companion Henry Maxham of Pomfret; a brother, Harland Westover of Waterbury; a sister Theresa Bruce of Orford, N.H.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, and by two brothers, Edmond and Lawrence Westover, four sisters Alice, Mable, Genevieve and Hazel, and by two grandchildren, Tammy Tucker and Todd Tucker.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 5, 2013, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, at 1 p.m. at Rochester Federated Church, with a reception to follow. Officiating will be the Rev. Doug Homan, pastor.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Rochester.
