OBITUARY: Raymond Stanley Matzek
Raymond Stanley Matzek was born in Pierce County, Wisconsin to Frank and Anna Matzek on November 5, 1916,and died suddenly while working on a new construction at River Falls State College on Tuesday, July 23, 1963, at the age of 46 years.
He attended the local schools at Cherma and on November 18, 1942 was inducted into the United States Air Force in Hudson, Wisconsin. He was discharged as a corporal from McClellen Field in California on January 21, 1946.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Matzek of Route 1, Hudson; brothers and sisters: Vince of River Falls; Mrs. Art (Margaret) Peterson, Mrs. Orrin (Marcella) Lewis and Clarence all of Hudson; Mrs. Harold (Lucille) Colberg of Florida; Mrs. John (Susie) Lundy of Hudson; Mrs. Arnold (Florence) Kordosky of River Falls, Vince Paulus of Bangor, Wisconsin and Joe Paulus of Bloomington, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held from the Cashman-Davis-McLaughlin Funeral on Friday, July 26 at 9:00 a.m. and at St. Bridget's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m., with Fr. Joseph Higgins officiating. Interment was in St. Martin's Cemetery in Cherma.Thank you CF
