She married Elmer Dellas Poppleton Hill on November 18, 1925, in Logan, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Mary enjoyed cooking and making candy from the time she was a young girl. She cooked in several of the restaurants in Cache Valley and catered weddings and parties throughout the area. Being a member of the LDS church, she enjoyed singing in the Wellsville 2nd Ward Choir and also in the Singing Mothers.

She is survived by her three daughters Evadeane (Dee) Mitton of Brigham City; Thora (Dean) Richards of Brigham City; Ramona Thompson of Barstow, CA; her daughter-in-law Geraldean (Dellas, deceased) Hill of Wellsville; and her sister Doris Sorteberg of Smithfield. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 56 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren, and numerous step grand children.
