William A. Luft, 79, of 4511 E. Ripey Rd., Corunna, died Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for a year and a 1/2. Funeral services will be held at Jennings-Lyons Chapel Friday at 3 p.m. Rev. Thomas A. Dunn will officiate at the service. Burial is to be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The body rests at the funeral chapel.

Mr. Luft was born in Owosso Township December 23, 1896, the son of Henry and Amelia (Hintz) Luft. He attended school in Owosso and Sciota Townships and grew up in Sciota Township. He had resided in New Haven Township since 1934. He and Edna B. Ireland were married April 23, 1927 at Bannister. A World War 1 Army veteran. Mr. Luft's life work was farming and he was a member of the New Haven Farm Bureau. He retired from farming in 1965.

Surviving are: his wife; one son, Francis of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Claire) Dombroski, of Owosso, Mrs. John (Wilma) Thomas of Pontiac; two brothers, Edward of Lainsburg, Crist of Owosso; three sisters, Mrs Ella Wildermuth, and Mrs. Dora Lohrer of Owosso, Mrs Roy (Irene) Decker of De-Witt; four grand children, and one great grand child. A son, Murie, died in 1949.
