Earldene "Dene" Bliss Rhoda age 87, formerly of #1 Ryon Circle, Lawrenceville, PA, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Sheila's Personal Care Home, Knoxville, PA.
She was born November 23, 1917 the daughter of Earl J. and Ethel L. Seeley Bliss. She was educated in Pennsylvania schools and attended banking schools prior to her retirement from First Bank & Trust Company of Corning, NY after 19 years of service. She also owned and operated a diner in Corning, NY for a number of years and managed the Centerway Motel Restaurant from 1953 to 1959. She was married to Merton J, Rhoda, Jr on November 12, 1955 at Sparta Center, NY by Rev. Harry Lee. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. Lawrenceville, PA.
Survived by: brother and sister-in-law Rick & Thelma Bliss, Lawrenceville, PA and sister-in-law Mildred Bliss, Lawrenceville, PA, several nieces and nephews.
"She was preceded in death by her husband, Merton J. Rhoda, Jr. on 11/28/96." Family and friends a re invited to call at the Kenyon Funeral Home Ic., Main Street, Elkland, Pennsylvania. Officiating is Rev. Larry O'Dell.

A personal note: My Aunt Dene loved the design of her and Uncle Mert's gravestone. They chose this stone together during his final illness. She loved that they were pictured walking hand and hand to their Savior. [VBZ]
