A Rev. War Veteran serving in Gen. Francis "Swamp Fox" Marion's Brigade in Marion, SC. After the war he lived out his life in nearby Horry, SC (Dongola Section).

A Revolutionary Soldier that served as 1st Lieutenant with Gen. F. Marion. He was in the Battle of Wambaw Bridge in Feb. 1778 when he lost his horse, Saddle, bridle, holsters & pistols (worth about $70 at the time). He wrote a letter to the SC House of Representatives in 1825 asking for compensation for his loss. Compensation was granted & also a pension for his service. (Documents posted here showing his Rev. War service).

Robert J. Lowrimore was awarded 136 acres for his service in the war in Horry, SC Jan. 21, 1817. Land was located on South Side of Hunting Swamp on Cypress Bay (Dongola section) in Horry, SC. He moved across the river into Horry, SC to live & believed to be buried on that land in a family cemetery now lost to wilderness. Cemetery was somewhere behind the country store at end of Dongola hwy & Pee Dee Hwy.
