Gus Washington Manley of Kennett died Monday, November 16, 1998 at NHC Health Care of Kennett. He was 79.He was born July 26, 1919 in Wildersville, Tennessee, the son of the late Wade and Mittie Walker Manley.He married Rubeye Nelson September 20, 1940. She preceded him in death on January 15, 1993.Mr. Manley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kennett.He is survived by one son, Jerry Manley of Fairfax, Virginia; one daughter, Candace Cannon of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother Henry Franks Jr. of Wildersville, Tennessee, two sisters, Anna Grey Franks and Frances Franks Maness. both of Wildersville, Tennessee; a dear friend Catherine McDonald of Kennett; four grandchildren, Cody and Kevin Cannon, Drew and Ross Manley; one great grandchild, Hunter Anthony Manley; other relatives and many friends.(Taken from the Daily Dunklin Democrat Newspaper, Kennett, Missouri 11-17- 1998)
