He was born on 8/19/1927 in Tupper Lake, son of Robert P. and Valeda (LaFountain) Brown. He attended Tupper Lake High Scholl and later went on to Business School in Plattsburg, NY.
He married Shirley McDonald on January 10, 1953 in Norwood, NY.
He was enlisted in the US Navy and was honorable discharged in 1946. He was employed at the National Army store in Tupper Lake where he managed for over 45 years. He was a member of the Tupper Lake VFW and also volunteered for the Tupper Lake and Potsdam Fire Dept.
Surviving were two sons. Tom and wife Kathleen of Heuvelton. Don of Massena and a daughter Linda and husband Mark Mittiga of Massena; a sister, Joyce Earle and a sister-in-law, Jackie Brown, both of Tupper Lake and a sister-in-law and her husband, Donald Wilcox in Titusville, FL; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased recently by his wife of nearly 60 years, Shirley, and a daughter Mary Frances Casey in 2007 and his three brothers Roy, James and Donald.
