He was born September 21st, 1915 in Durham County, the son of James Floyd Dixon and Lula Mangum Dixon.
He moved to the Carpenter Community of western Wake County in 1951 where he lived for over 50 years among family and friends. He moved to Fuquay-Varina in 2006 where he was again blessed with good neighbors and friends. A greater blessing in his life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him as "Pappy."
He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Good Hope Baptist Church since 1951. His entire working career was in the dairy business.
Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Dawson Dixon in 1996.
Survived by a daughter Iris, two grandsons and four great grandchildren.
