Anna McDonald Wilcox, formerly of Unionville, and Winthrop, passed away on May 22, 2020. She was born in Carthage on 6/21/1924, the daughter of Herbert W. and Mary E. Bean McDonald. Anna attended high school in Potsdam, NY.


Anna worked during the war years at Alcoa. Among her employment history, she worked in the accounting office at Potsdam Hospital and as a secretary for the plant chief for the New York Tel. Co. in Potsdam.


Anna sacrificed her employment to raise their family, returning to the job market as a music library assistant at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam. She retired from there in 1986, when she moved to Titusville, Florida. Anna was an avid golfer and a member of the Red Hat ladies.


Anna is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Donald L. Wilcox; She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Jon (Ellen) Richter, of Garner, NC; Mrs. Tim (Ruth) Ryberg, of Omaha, NE; three sons, David A. Wilcox, of McKinney, TX; John L. Wilcox, and Mary Ellen, of Des Moines, IA; and James M. Wilcox and Luann, of Collierville, TN; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Regina L. Young, Marion F. McDonald; Alberta M. Phillips; Shirley Brown and a brother, and Roy W. McDonald predeceased her.
