He was a retired landscape artist and was formerly employed by Cypress Gardens. He loved fishing, flower gardening and traveling. His passion was baseball and his favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Tampa Bay Rays. He loved animals and was a very generous person willing to give anything to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Clarice Addison; two brothers, Melvin Addison and Joe Addison; two sisters, Melvernia Tubberville and Phyllis Williams; a daughter, Valerie Ann "Cookie" Addison; and two sons, Tony Justin Addison and Johnny Addison.
Survivors include one son, Bubba Addison of Palatka; two daughters, Melissa Dawn "Missy" Addison and Candy Michelle Peterson both of Jacksonville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. and Caroline Addison of Jacksonville, Carl Dillard and Patricia Addison of Wilmington, DE, and David Daniel and Aldina Addison of Missouri; two sisters, Mary Mavis Dowling of Macclenny and Patricia Annette Ball of Lake Butler; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be at the Masters Funeral Home in Palatka from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Father John Jacobs officiating. In honor and celebration of his life a Video Tribute will be shown. Burial will follow in Swift Creek Cemetery in Lake Butler.
