Donald P. "Don" Fleming, 90, of Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Sunbury, PA, passed away on December 12, 2013 at 5:40 a.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was born November 30, 1923 in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, to the late Ross Ralph Fleming and Esther (Wilson) Fleming.
Don was a successful farmer for more than 58 years and also worked in the maintenance department at Pullman Standard. He was a member of Community Alliance Church and also attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in America. Don was passionate about his family, particularly his grandchildren, in whom he took special delight. Don was a fully devoted follower of Christ who loved teaching the Bible in Sunday School and in home Bible studies. He had committed to memory hundreds of verses of Scripture. He was an avid reader, and in recent years enjoyed gardening.
Don is survived by his wife, Marian (Miller) Fleming, whom he married December 30, 2006; two daughters, Donna Dail and her husband Roy of Greensburg, PA and Diane D. Fleming of Butler, PA; three grandchildren, Kent Dail of Pittsburgh, PA, Kevin Dail and his wife Jennifer of Greensburg, PA and Krystal Dail of Greensburg, PA; one sister, Jane Bortmas of West Sunbury, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Regina Margaret "Jean" Fleming, whom he married September 29, 1951, and who passed away October 12, 2002; one son, Porter Fleming; two sisters; and four brothers.
Friends will be received Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Roy Dail of Greensburg Alliance Church, son-in-law of the deceased, officiating.
Burial will take place in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery, West Sunbury, PA.
