It is with sincere regret that we chronicle the death in this city yesterday of one of our highly esteemed citizens, Mr. George Sullivan. His health had been delicate for some time, and a sudden attack of illness on Monday was more than his constitution could stand, making him an easy prey for the Dark Angel. After a few hours of great suffering, he expired Tuesday morning at seven o'clock. His death just at this time is peculiarly sad, for on Saturday last Mrs. Sullivan and Miss Emma left for Sewanee, Tenn., in search of health for the former, and the unexpected shock will be very sad for them. The bereaved household and friends have universal sympathy in their grief.
The Clarion, Jackson, MS, August 26, 1885.
