Patsy J. Vissari, 89, of Butler passed away Friday at HealthSouth Harmarville Rehabilitation Hospital.
Born in Mt. Pleasant on Jan. 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Angelo and Viola Santore Vissari.
He was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, where he was employed for 30 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed gardening and remodeling, and he especially loved his family.
Patsy was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 117 of Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Nedrow Vissari, to whom he was married to for 64 years; four sons, John N. Vissari and his wife, Frances, of Butler, Donald D. Vissari and his wife, Debbie, of Pittsburgh, Daniel J. Vissari of Baltimore, Md., and Thomas B. Vissari of Butler; four daughters, Susan Vissari Clinton and her husband, Dick, of Butler, Donna J. Mikula of Butler, Joyce V. Janicki and her husband, Jack, of Butler, and Linda C. Wilbur and her husband, Elliot, of New Jersey; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Raymond Vissari; three brothers, and one sister.
VISSARI - Friends of Patsy J. Vissari, who died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Members of St. Paul Catholic women and Christian mothers will meet at the church at 9:35 a.m. Monday to recite the rosary.
