Nora Lyons was a first generation Irish American born in Washington D.C. to Daniel B. Lyons (1845-1902) and Catharine Buckley Lyons (1846 - approx. 1920). Her husband, plumber, James T. O'Brien predeceased her (1877-1932). She had no children. She helped out her siblings financially. She purchased the cemetery plots for her sisters Catharine Lyons Molloy and Margaret Lyons Lynch and their husbands.
