MILDRED G. "PEACHIE" (GRIMES) SNOWBERGER, 87, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 20 Geiser Ave., Waynesboro, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 1993, in the home. She became critically ill on Feb. 26 after suffering a stroke.
Born Jan. 6, 1906, in Rouzerville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ellen (Rowe) Grimes. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.
She and her husband, Harry H. Snowberger, were married Jan. 13, 1934. He died April 25, 1953. She entered the nursing home on May 15, 1992.
In her early life, she worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill and as a clerk at the Colonial Fair store and the HP store on West Main Street, Waynesboro.
She was a member of the former First Christian Church, Waynesboro, and its Dorcus Sunday School Class.
She is survived by one sister, Julia McKendrick, Waynesboro, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Zody and Isabelle Summers; one brother, Harold Grimes; one half sister, Neal Baker, and one half brother, Lester Weddle.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Bruce R. Woolever officiating. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Washington Township.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be madie to the Benevolent Fund at Quincy United Methodist Home, P.O. Box 128, Quincy, Pa. 17247.
