THIS BIO IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

Mary Mathea Olson was born to Ole Johnson & Sella, both from Lillehammer, Oppland, Norway. From this union, two children were born. Mary Mathea "Mattie" Olson & John Olson, (Skogen) 1856-1943.

My Family, Carl Alland has informed me, that John Olson added "Skogen" to his name around 1905. "Skogen" is the name of their farm as tagged on some of the farm photo's.

Mattie married Magnus Johnson on March 4, 1886 at Lacrosse, Lacrosse County, Wisconsin.
From this union, was born 5 children that I am aware of.
Selma A. Johnson 1887-1948
John Carl Johnson 1888-1959
Oscar Johnson 1892-1967
Carl Adolph "Harold" Johnson 1897-1961
Helen Johnson Wilberg 1900-1990

Mattie was an avid fisherman-ette!
In Grandma's obituary it stated that she was the oldest female to ever buy a fishing license! Now I know where all my fishing instincts and desires come from, lol! It's in my gene's!

Mattie came to America at the age of 20 or 21- documents differ which leads to more researching being done.

Selma took in her family, to help them in 1940.
At 80 years old (1940), Grandma was living with her daughter, due to being widowed and elderly. Selma wasn't able to work at this time, so Grandma did the keeping and cleaning of the home. Carl Adolf "Harold" Johnson was there living as well. He is Selma's brother and Grandma's son and had been unemployed for over 3 months, while he was living in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

This project is a team effort. Thanks Susanna Parrish Allen, for all you hard work and dedication to many family's and mine.
Cemetery Photos: Anonymous, great job.
