Wanda Ashworth Stafford died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Southern Hills Hospital. A member of Arlington United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Music City Dee Bees, she was a retired executive secretary of Sunbeam Bakery. She earned a Special Achievement Award from the Apollo Space Program and there is a plaque placed on the moon with her name engraved on it.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wayne Stafford.
Survivors include one son, Benny Stafford of San Diego, Calif.; on daughter, Terri Ursery of Antioch; one son-in-law, Dan Ursery of Antioch; two brothers, Ernie Ashworth of Hartsville and James Ashworth of Gurley, Ala.; four grandchildren, Chris Ursery, Courtney Ursery, Michaela Stafford and Leigha Stafford; and a devoted friend, Peggy Williamson of Mt. Juliet.
A Celebration of Life was conducted Friday afternoon at Bond Memorial Chapel with James Ashworth and Fred Lodge officiating. Interment followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were Tom Rollins, Dave Larson, Bob Petrochek, Duane Williamson, Billy King, Chris Ursery and Ken Garner. Honorary pallbearers were Don Archives, Martha Shipman, GeorgeAnna Russell, Doris Denton, Ruth Hale, Music City Dee Bees, and Al Menah drum and Bugle Corp. Bond Memorial Chapel, LLC in charge of arrangements.

NASHVILLE - Wanda Ashworth Stafford died Tuesday at a Nashville hospital. The memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mount Juliet, Tenn., with James Ashworth and Fred Lodge officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wayne Stafford.
