VERMILION - Nancie Ann Ansell (nee Clay), 75, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy.

She was born December 22, 1938 in Rockwood, Pa., and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 45 years moving from Sheffield Lake.

Nancie had been a secretary for various businesses and clothing stores. She had also been the secretary for the Somerset Co. District Attorney in the late 1950's.

She was very active in the Rockwood Historical Society where she was the newsletter editor and author. She also enjoyed computers.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Ansell; sons, Mark (Dana) Ansell of Vermilion, Michael (Pam) Ansell of Taylorsville, Ky., and Matt (Kimberly) Ansell of Vermilion; and grandchildren, Seth, Monica, Malory, Shane and Josh Ansell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen (nee Sembower) Clay; brother, James Clay; sister, Jene Jones, and daughter in law, Robin Ansell.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Pastor Rich Henry will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests memorial contributions to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 401 Tomahawk Drive, Maumee, OH 43537.
