Donald Van Kampen was born to Harold and Doris Van Kampen in Coldwater, MI on December 23, 1934. Dad grew up during the depression so the family didn't have a lot, but enough to get by. Dad went to school right thru college obtaining a BA in business from Michigan State University. He entered the Army and was sent to France where he met and married my Mother Marie-Therese. They came back to the US and established a home in Michigan. They had three daughters and in the late 1960s they moved to Florida. Dad had a successful business in Pinellas Park, then moved to Pasco County. He and Mom were no longer together and he married again to Barbara Pitzer. He worked as a supervisor for the Pasco County Health Department until his retirement. After retirement he indulged in his passion for gardening and learning new things earning him the title of the scholar by his fellow younger classmates.Barbara passed away in 1998 and he and Mom gravitated back together and he asked her to remarry him and she accepted, they were starting their life anew together. Daddy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.Husband of Marie-Therese "Memee"
