GREENWOOD - Toby Abbott, age 72, died Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
He was born in Caruthersville, Missouri May 30, 1941 to the late Granville Hugh and Ola Mae(Hall) Abbott and graduated from Caruthersville High School. Was a resident of Greenwood since 1975 and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Carroll County. He owned and operated Abbott Pivot Sales in Greenwood before retirement, served in the Missouri National Guard and was a deacon in Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church in Missouri.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Thursday 4/3/2014 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry McNeer and Reverend Chuck Provine officiating.
Pallbearers will be Josh Conway, Chad Conway, Bill Sheppard, Jack Griffin, Jr., Brad Poole and Julian Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Wiseman, Jack Griffin Sr., David Conway, Gerald Conway, Noll Davis Jr.,Charlie Smart, Ellis Roberts and Jack Lishman. Burial will be in Moores Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County.
He is survived by one son, Jason Matthew Abbott of Carrollton, with whom he cherished every minute spent enjoying time together, especially fishing and working together, sister, Myra Abbott(Bill) Ferrell of Greenwood, 2 brother in laws, Gerald Conway of Greenwood and David Conway of Winona, 3 sister in laws, Jimmie(Ray) Epperson of Grenada, Becky(Larry) Hunter of Grenada and Norma(Jack) Griffin of Van Buren, MO. along with a host of nieces and nephews and devoted friends and acquaintances.
