Funeral services for W. T. Matthews, 63, of Heflin, La. who died in a Minden hospital early Tuesday morning following a short illness, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Green Kleinegger Chapel. The Rev. B. P. Durbin, Lisbon, officiated. Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery, Heflin.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ella Matthews, Heflin; four sons, Johnnie Matthews, St. Joseph; Davenport Matthews, Saline; James T. Matthews, Dubberly and Isiaah Matthews, Heflin; four daughters, Mrs. Daisy Day and Mrs. Zelma Day, both of Minden, Mrs. Viola Rowell and Mrs. Eloise Lee, both of Heflin; one brother, Mangrum Matthews, Castor; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Bray, Goldonna, and Mrs. Annie Rowell, Vianna; 19 grandchildren.
