Information obtained from her obituary in Enquirer Journal, Monroe, N. C.***
Her obituary states Mrs. Ethel Fitzgerald Thompson, 97, passed on June 21 in Arlington, VA. The funeral was held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Arlington. Burial was in National Memorial Cemetery in Falls Church, VA.
A former resident of Indian Trail,(NC) she and her
late husband, Dr. Jesse York Fitzgerald (Indian Trail's first doctor) came to live here with their two children in 1909.
After Dr. Fitzgerald passed on in 1926 Mrs. Fitzgerald married J. F. Thompson of Indian Trail.
After Mr. Thompson's death, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Marvin N. Hunter (Jessie) for 37 years.
Survivors are a son Ira Odell Fitzgerald of Bakersfield, CA; a daughter, Jessie Fitzgerald Hunter of Arlington; a grandson, Henry Fitzgerald Hunter of Arlington.
