Funeral service for Wayne Carpenter, 71, of Trinity, will be today, July 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Moulton with Bro. Jeff Griffis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Carpenter died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1943, in Ohio to Denzil C. Carpenter and Mildred E. Murphy Carpenter. He was an Air Force veteran and a law enforcement officer. Wayne Carpenter was a man of God and a great family man. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Willene Hill Carpenter; one son, Tracy Wayne Carpenter (Kimberly); one daughter, Kim Carpenter Bailey (James); three step-brothers; Murphy Alexander, Danny Fulmer and Frank Shirley; three step-sisters, Coney Finger, JoAnn Evans and Kay Jackson; loving brothers and sisters of the Holmes Family; three grandchildren, Baylee Carpenter, Trace Carpenter and Noah Bailey.

Pallbearers will be David Holmes, Connie Holmes, Keith Holmes, Shawn Holmes, Chris Holmes, Chad Holmes, Ashley Holmes, Jerry Holmes and Brian Vines.
