Charles N. Adams was 80 years, 8 months and 13 days old when he died. He was the son of Samuel P. and Margaret S. Adams. He married Elizabeth K. Carlton October 16, 1859 in Haverhill, New Hampshire. He worked for the Vermont Journal during his residency in Windsor, VT. He had moved to Gloversville, NY in 1910 and died at his home there. He was predeceased by his uncle, Ezra B. Adams just a few days befor his death. His only surviving relative was his wife.

"Prayer services were held for he late Charles N. Adams at his home at 129 Prospect Street, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Rev. A. P. Manwell pastor of the First Congregational church, officiated. There were a large number of floral tributes from neighbors, relatives, and friends. The body will be shipped to Windsor, VT this morning at 6 o'clock and the funeral services will be held in the Congregational church at Windsor tomorrow. Interment will be made in the family plot in the Ascutney cemetery at Windsor". (The Morning Herald, Sept. 14, 1914, Gloversville, NY)
