Marvin L. Johnson, age 71 of Grafton, ND passed away on July 15, 2014, at Bethesda Hospital of St. Paul, MN.

Marvin Lloyd Johnson was born February 2, 1943, at Fordville, ND the son of the late Louis and Helen (Kvaal) Johnson. He attended Grafton High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. He dedicated 30 years of his life to the military and retired a Master Chief. He received many commendations and medals throughout his career. After retiring from the military, he worked for 13 years for the Naval Reserve as head of maintenance, refueling planes.
He like to fish and hunt deer, play cards and watching western movies. He was commander of the American Legion in San Diego, CA where he met his new bride, Anna Iman. They were married Dec. 5, 2003. The couple returned to the Grafton, ND area in 2004 and worked part-time for his brother in the construction business.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Anna, Grafton, ND; daughter, Kathy (Gene) Demers, Grafton, ND; brothers: Louis (Joan) Johnson, Grafton, ND; Charles (Rose) Johnson, Bismarck, ND; Harold (Jane) Johnson, Montgomery, MN; Ken (Anna) Johnson, Jacksonville, FL; sisters: Juanita (Larry) Eftefield, Edelstein, IL; Mary (Dennis) Gustafson, Grand Forks, ND; and Karen Denault, Edinburg, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Johnson.

Memorial services: Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND. Inurnment at the Nekoma Cemetery, Nekoma, ND.
