Author. He escaped from the the Japanese occupation of Korea by fleeing to Germany via Shanghai, China. He then studied at Würzburg, Heidelberg and Munich universities the subjects of medicine, zoology, botanics and anthropology, was awarded a PhD in 1928. His most famous book was "Der Yalu fließt" which introduces the Korean independence movement.
