Claudia Ruth Wilkinson Johnson Johnson Jordan, 96, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. She was born in Ozark County, MO to Elmer and Sarah Adaline (German) Wilkinson on August 22, 1917.
She married Hobert Johnson April 20, 1934 and to this union four children were born; Hobert passed in 1981. She married Cecil Johnson in 1986 and he passed in May 1998. On August 18, 2006 she married Obie Jordan.
Claudia gave her life to the Lord at the age of eighteen and was baptized by Rev Vince Casting.
She was a planter and charter member of East Side General Baptist Church in Springfield, MO; also a church planter of the New Harmony Church in Douglas County, MO. She taught Sunday school for many years for the youth. She enjoyed music, playing piano, harmonica, guitar and banjo and performed on the Ozark Jubilee Farmarama at Fantastic Caverns and the Four Star Theater in Springfield, MO but most of all she enjoyed singing in the church choir and doing special music in the church. She was currently a member of the Charity Baptist Church of Springfield, MO.
Claudia is retired from the Springfield Public School food services. Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, quilting and traveling and visiting many places, her favorite place was the Smokey Mountains. Was a seamstress for Famous Barr and did alterations from her home.
Claudia had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good practical joke.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; 1 son Jay Dillion, siblings Hazel Jones, Amanda Trent, Icey Turner, George Wilkinson and Kathern Denny.
She is survived by her husband Obie; 3 daughters Naomi Brown, Reverend Norma Ruth (Steven) Cochrun, Gail (David) Davidson; one step son Dale (Wanda) Jordan, one sister Lela Johnson; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
