Walt graduated from Cedarville High School and then went on to serve his country with the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the St. Ignace area VFW and the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Walt was dearly loved, and everyone enjoyed listening to him play his harmonica. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Walt” to anyone who knew him. Walt loved being outdoors, camping, spending time with family and reading, and especially his cat: KitKat.
Walter was survived by four sons: Pat, Tim, Chris and Trevor Currie; two brothers: LeRoy (Stella) Currie and Gary (Nancy) Currie; and a sister in-law: Dorothy Currie. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Walter Currie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Barbara Lee and Margaret Ann Currie; and a brother: Robert Currie.
