Edward L. Bishop Jr., 63, died Sept. 13, 2004, at his home in Oscoda, Michigan.
He was born Aug. 11, 1941, in Windsor, Vt., the son of Edward and Elsie (Anderson) Bishop.
He graduated from Windsor High School in 1959 and attended the University of Vermont.
He married Sandra Mackay on Sept. 12, 1964, in Windsor.
Mr. Bishop was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring as chief master sergeant after 22 years of service. He spent two tours in Vietnam and received various awards and medals including two bronze stars.
After his discharge from the military, he went to work with Rockwell International in 1982, working on the B-1 Bomber program. He retired in 2001 as deputy site manager in the Boeing Oklahoma City office after 19 years with Rockwell/Boeing.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of Oscoda; two sons, Scott Bishop of Redmond, Wash., Michael Bishop of Honolulu, Hawaii; five sisters, Cynthia LaClair of Penacook, N.H., Shirley Nelson of Alamogordo, N.M., Brenda Reed of Charlestown, N.H., Margaret Rising of Windsor, Vt., and Elizabeth Wiley of Basehor, Kan.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, Vt.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The Rev. Paul Belhumeur, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, will officiate.
Burial with military honors will follow in Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
