KEITHVILLE, LA - Funeral services for James Hampton Sanders, Jr., 77, will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Father Charles Glorioso. Interment will follow in Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
James was born on November 11, 1936 in Wellington, TX and passed away after a lenghty illness on September 30, 2014 to be with his heavenly father and family that preceded him in death. Mr. Sanders served in the Navy from May 1, 1956 - March 5, 1958. He was a beloved husband and father. He was a carpenter by trade and a perfectionist in all that he made. He will be dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by son, James H. Sanders, III; father, James H. Sanders, Sr.; mother, Hope Evelyn Sanders; brother, Thomas Barton Sanders; sister, Alpha Ann Russom. Left to cherish his memory is wife, Ruby L. Sanders; son, Paul William Sanders; daughters, Amy Sue Coates and Terry, Sandra Ann Torres and John, Sherry Lynn Cordaro and Emile; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Sanders and Susan Sanders McKenzie.
Pallbearers will be John Torres, Emile Cordaro, Tom Sanders, Charles "Buddy" Sanders, Kevin Coates, and Anthony Cordaro.
The family would like to give a special thanks to James' hospice nurse, Laura, at Lifepath Hospice.
